Tarantola Gin

This craft is product and bottled in Salento, according to the English process by using a traditional copper still. It's a blend with a typical flavour of common Junipper berries combined with the precious and rare barries of red juniper, the so caled cuddly juniper, typical of the Salento coast and protagonist of archaic and magic tales.

Ancient traditions tell that in the past branches of cuddly juniper were used to chase away both evil spirits and tarantulas, spiders that with their bite created a general condition of malaise and a disease similar to epilepsy, treated until the 60s with a typical popular music called pizzica.
